Woodshop & CNC

The Rocket Woodshop department employs eight experienced full-time carpenters and is often supported by talented freelancers too. Alongside traditional mortise and tenon wooden scenery construction, the scenic carpenters are expert at working with a wide array of materials, from plastics to fibreglass; from laminate to fabric. The list is endless.

The CNC team programme and operate our Homag CNC router on-site, allowing us to cut intricate individual or multiple components from sheet materials. We specialise in creating bespoke modular show floors, often featuring planked, stone, or parquet engraving effects. The CNC department are intrinsic to most, if not all, of the scenery and touring goods produced here at Rocket. They come up with ingenious solutions to reduce waste, maximise efficiency, and ensure accuracy.
